Ich weiß ja nicht wie es euch geht, aber ich finde es unfassbar, dass sich so viele Musiker dazu bereiterklären, sich die Zeit und Mühe für uns zu machen und bei unserer „Zieh mal blind eine Platte aus deinem Schrank und schreib was drüber!“-Aktion mitmachen. Wir freuen uns immer wie bolle auf und über die Texte!
Nach Irish Handcuffs, Linus Volkmann und John Allen haben nun auch The Uprising sich zu uns ins Boot gesellt!

The Uprising sind 4 Jungs, die sich 2012 in Berlin dazu entschlossen haben, gemeinsam Musik zu machen und so viel wie möglich zu touren. Anfang 2014 ist die Band gemeinsam mit The Scandals einmal quer durch Europa getourt – musikalisch bewegen sie sich im melodischen Punkrock, danceable rock´n´roll meets streetpunk. Wer die Band noch nicht kennt, sollte da mal dringend reinhören!
Nepo, Sänger und Gitarrist der Band, hat eine Platte von District aus seinem Plattenschrank gezogen und hat uns einen Text dazu geschrieben, den ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte! Vielen Dank, Nepo!!

Hey there, I’m Nepo, singer and guitarist with the Uprising. The record I picked up is „Don’t mess with the hard punx“ by District. It came out on People like you Records (Prison082-1) in 2004. Since my vinyl collection is fairly small there was like a 1 out of 29 chance I would pick this LP up and I’m glad I did, because honestly I think it’s one of the best english-languaged punk rock records that ever emerged from german soil. When I was introduced to this record in 2009, it was already somewhat 5 years old.  I come from a more hardcore punk background, but joined a street punk band when I moved to Berlin so my new band-buddies would introduce me to a lot of good bands that would play this kind of punk. „Don’t mess with the hard punx“ was definitely the record sticking out as the most magical. In my head it almost shares a drawer with the Clash, not just because of the obvious sound similarities but also for outstanding punk rock songwriting. Unfortunately I never saw the complete original line-up or was around when those guys were touring this record. Mark Ader, one of two singers got a follow up project called „2nd District“ which is an equally recommendable band but I guess most of my fascination for „District“ comes from the results of the songwriting-„tête-à-tête“ of Ader with second singer Briggs. I saw Pascal Briggs joining 2nd District on stage once to play a couple of District songs and it made me even more sad to have missed it back in the day. It was really cool. Just give a listen to „I crisis“ or „Monotony“ and let me tell you that the whole record is amazing. You should get a copy if you can.
